  Green laser (λ = 532 nm) has been used in the field of medicine for a long time and has been proven in various studies to improve the rheological properties of blood. Laser has been credited to cause a biostimulatory effect on the various blood cells. However, the effect of laser on the various blood cells is not well investigated. The objective is to investigated the effect of laser light irradiation on morphological changes of red blood cells, namely keratocytes, dacrocytes, target cells, schistocytes and echinocytes. Able to investigate the effect of laser light irradiation on human red blood cells, blood smears from the peripheral blood of two normal individuals (an adult male and female) were prepared and exposed to different laser doses at different intervals. The morphological changes of red blood cells were assessed. The result showed that the green laser at low energy was able to reduce the proportion of the morphologically abnormal red blood cells in the blood smears. This suggests the importance of using a low energy, green laser in clinical medicine for the treatment of various conditions.
