Human resource is the critical & most valuable cutting edge advantages for any organization. The ability to sustain a steady supply of critical talent is a challenge facing all organizations worldwide. The growing recognition that the quality talent is a sustainable competitive advantage, coupled with a realistic view of the complexity and scope of changes in the global workforce has led to a renewed focus and urgency around talent management. From a strategic perspective, an effective talent management system helps crucial employees feel as if they are part of something bigger than their current job. The research paper will try to understand the skill sets which should be a part of talent management of entry level IT professional’s .This study surveyed 137 it personnel and took feedback on the skills they thought important for entry level IT professionals. Primary data was collected from IT service sector professionals& analysis was done by using t-test. Major Skills were Business Expertise, Domain Knowledge, Personal Attributes and Technical Proficiencies’ .This study will help the to understand the skills which should be a part of talent management for entry level employees in IT sector. Critical talent parameters for IT sector can be identified and this would help the organization for better acquisition &retention polices. Retaining talented workforce will help growth of the organization.
