Micro finance institutions emerged as a financial services provider and catered the need of poor people who is remained un-served by the commercial banking sectors. In present study we are trying to study the impact of microfinance institutions in the eradication of poverty and upliftment of living standard of poor people of Bihar. Various studies has been conducted in the southern region of India but not much literature has been found out on the poor state like Bihar which is poorest state and continuously facing dough and floor every year. So, through our study which is purely based on secondary data, we find that the outreach and efficiency of microfinance Institutions in this region is not viable and effective, it don’t reach to the many needed and poor people.
