Carbon footprint has become a widely used term and concept in the public debate on responsibility and abatement action against the threat of global climate change. A carbon footprint can broadly be defined as a measure of the greenhouse gases (GHGs) emissions that are directly and indirectly caused by an activity or are accumulated over the life stages of a product or service, expressed in carbon dioxide equivalents. At local level calculating individual’s carbon footprint can helps policymakers to frame policies in alignment with climate policy and also sharpening the awareness of municipal stakeholders   about   the   links   between   local   activities   and climate change. Present study is an attempt to calculate individual’s carbon footprint based on three important variables i.e. cooking gas, electricity consumption and transportation.
