Among so many educational institutions in India among that school occupies the base level for all the higher educational institutions. In the school administration, the head teachers play a predominant role not only in the academic excellence but also in the administrative prospect. Hence the educational training wing has imparted training on both managerial skill and developing leadership qualities among head teachers. The investigator collected data using self made tool after expert consultation 30 samples only taken in Salem district for this study. The data subjected to analysis and the findings of the study reveals the training on developing leadership qualities imparted to the school head teachers has certain effectiveness. It shows that the training on developing leadership qualities and managerial skills imparted to the school head teachers has certain effectiveness. It shows that there is an impact of the training programme. It is found with respect to overall leadership qualities among school head teachers, have both average level and high level of leadership qualities. No headmasters from school have low level of leadership qualities. There is no association between the leadership qualities of head teachers with respect to gender, age, experience, Educational qualification, Professional qualification.
