Entrepreneur is one who is involved in gathering and using
resources to make use of opportunities to produce the products. Entrepreneurs
have a strong desire to be their own boss and they work for their own gain.
Their main objective is to do business for their personal gain (profit). These
types of entrepreneurs are known as commercial entrepreneurs. But other type of entrepreneurs is also there
who never overlook social problems and work for the society to solve the social
problems. Their main objective is to use their skills to solve a social problem
which is not solved either by the government and other business organizations.
This study examines the role of commercial and social entrepreneurs in an
economy. The objectives of this study is to make commercial and social
entrepreneurship as clear as possible, to review the studies conducted and
results suggested in the area of commercial and social entrepreneurship, to
give recommendations and suggestions drawn there from. It was observed that
commercial entrepreneurs act as the change agents for the business and social
entrepreneurs act as the change agents for the society. So both play an
important role in an economy and both are important for the economy. An economy
cannot be a developed economy if only either commercial entrepreneur or social
entrepreneurs are there. Both should exist in an economy.
