This paper entitled, “The Socio-cultural communication processes in Ogba tribe of Rivers state, Nigeria”, is a presentation part of the author’s Ph.D. thesis (2007). The finding of this study shows that Ogba tribe is full of meaningful symbols which determine the flow of message in their respective communities and not the mass media. Therefore, the main purpose of this article is to unravel that powerful role of the African communication system through the social understanding of the cultural communication processes among the people of Ogbogu community in this tribe of Rivers state and how it affects them as a social group in this part of Nigerian society. Secondly, to enable our research communicators to have that holistic understanding of cultural communication processes in a community as to understand  how their cultural patterns  affects their flow of message and their ways of  life such eating habits and companies around them, else that work will be lacking that systematic knowledge about that community.
