Provisions On Whistle Blowing & Factors Hindering Whistle Blowing

Whistle blowing is meant to warn all the concerned persons that everything is not going well. In order to blow the whistle, one needs to have courage and belief that his/her initiative would serve some genuine and desired purposes. However, in India, we lack the pre requisite culture for whistle blowing, that is we are not comfortable in creating discomfort for others. Like, ever since the organisations started to form in India; till date only two whistle blowers had come up; and both of them were murdered. So, this reveals that there are various gaps and inconsistencies, not only in law but also in our values and norms, which need to bridge if we aspire to have good governance across the nation.
