This new edition by Ralph Crane gives a detailed introduction by Radhika Mohanram and Crane himself, a chronology of the author, map showing European places mentioned in the novel and substantial explanatory notes that provide a critical commentary to the novel. This edition of Lilamani is based on the edition published by Hutchinson and Co. in 1911. The explanatory notes offer details of historical, geographical and cultural background to both Indian and foreign readers
