Infectious diarrhea is one of the common cause of diarrhea causing morbidity and mortality worldwide. This study was performed to identify the common bacteria and their susceptibility to anti microbial agents in adults with diarrhea. The prevalence of bacteria diarrheagenic agents in 100 patients suffering from prolonged acute diarrhea and reporting to Govt. General Hospital, Kurnool. One or more bacterial, entero pathogens were isolated in 30 cases (30%). The prevalence rate for these pathogenic was as follows: entero toxogenic Escherichia coli (50%), Klebsiella (23%), shigella (16.7%), citrobacteria (6.6%), of the stool samples examine. Although determination of entero pathogens role as etiological agent complicated by more than one factor the data collected will help and survey as baseline as further study
