Pulse-jet fabric filters rely on the filtration of dirty flue gas by the outside surface of the bags, which are then cleaned by a shock wave generated by an air pulse entering each bag from the top. As it travels down the length of the bag, the shock wave flexes the fabric and dislodges the dust cake. Comparison of numerical results of mass flow rate, pressure, temperature at the exit of the reservoir 1 and 2 is analyzed. With progressing time and towards the end of the pulse duration, it was observed that the mass flow rate at the exit of the reservoir 1 is equal to the exit of the reservoir 2.The pressure drop with time is more when the reservoir 1 is connected to a blow tube or reservoir 2 having 12 nozzles when compared to 9 nozzles. The temperature in the reservoir 1 monotonously decreases with time and in reservoir 2 increases sharply during the initial times for a small duration of the total pulse time.
