Today’s Web is moving from
being a collection of pages towards a collection of services that collaborate
through Internet. Services are created and updated on the fly hence it is
impractical to generate the service compositions manually. Automation of Web
service composition is the process of forming new Web services from existing
Web services. Semantics plays an important role in activities such as
discovery, selection and composition. The paper presents an approach that
derives and evaluates the structured composition from a given set of Web
services automatically on user request. The approach consists of two phases.
First, the semantic links are established among the services based on a causal
law, to form a network. Second, based on the user request the structured
compositions are derived and evaluated based on the semantic matching of
services in the result. The approach allows addition and removal of services at
run time which makes it dynamic.
