Optimization Of Solar Flat Plate Collector

A major contribution in the total heat losses in flat plate collectors (FPCs) is top heat loss (from absorber plate to surrounding) coefficient. Mostly the top heat loss is  function of the wind heat transfer coefficient, absorber plate temperature, absorber plate emittnace and collector tilt angle etc. The cover plate temperature various depending upon the wind heat transfer coefficient. It is necessary to choose appropriate values of cover plate temperature for correct estimation of top heat losses. The aim of the work is to test the overall heat transfer coefficient between the absorber plates to surrounding of top surface by design of experiment and an optimized it. Neglect the bottom and side losses. Considering both convective and radiation heat transfer between absorber to surrounding.
